Walk in the Park
June 10, 2007
More than 300 walkers, along with elders, sponsors and volunteers joined us for the Little Brothers - Friends of the Elderly first annual Walk in the Park! Folks of all ages helped us raise funds for LBFE programs…and had fun as well! The event included a:
- 3.5 mile walk along Chicago's lakefront for the hale and hearty
- Short circle walk for seniors and others who believe that brevity is the best policy
- Celebration Picnic – food and drink for all participants and volunteers
- 30-50 of our Old Friends in attedance!
The walk is over, but there is still time to make a donation. Donations will be accepted until July 31.
1. Click here if you would like more information about making a donation.

LBFE intern and Program Assistant Brenda Weigand was moved to write an article for the Dominican Volunteers USA Newsletter about her experience with us.
“I wanted something different before graduate school. I wanted a challenge. I wanted to expand my comfort zone. I wanted to see what life was like from another perspective, and I hoped to learn something along the way. I’ve certainly gotten more than I bargained for …”

Brenda chows down with Orealya at an LBFE luncheon.
